Agricole Forte operates an in-house analysis laboratory fully equipped for conducting quality checks on the incoming green alfalfa, on the product during the dehydration process, and on the finished products in the storehouse.
Incoming green product
During this initial stage, each incoming load of green alfalfa is weighed and sampled.
The collected samples are sent to the analysis lab, where their moisture content is determined in accordance with the operating instructions set out in the ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management System Manual and the Product and Traceability Manual.
This is a particularly important stage, because its results determine the temperature that will be used during the dehydration process.
Product under processing
During the dehydration process, the operators collect samples of the product at 4-5 hour intervals.
The collected samples are sent to the analysis lab, where their moisture, protein and fibre content is determined according to the operating instructions set out in the ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management System Manual and the Product and Traceability Manual.
The results of these analyses are used to organise the storehouse and unloading boxes in such a way that different qualities are not mixed.
Products in the storehouse
During the third and final stage, the Quality Control operator collects samples of the product from each of the boxes in the storehouse at 4-5 day intervals, and analyses their moisture, fibre and protein content.
This analysis makes it possible to determine whether the stored product is retaining its original characteristics over time. The results are then sent to the sales office, which proceeds to plan its sale accordingly.
