Cottonseeds

Cottonseeds are contained inside ovoidal or nearly spherical fruit capsules, divided by internal membranes into a number of compartments, each of which contains about 9 seeds; the total number of seeds inside each capsule is between 40-45.

Attached to the seeds are the cotton fibres, which produce the distinctive tufts when the capsule ripens and breaks open.

Numerous completed and ongoing research studies indicate that whole cottonseed has favourable effects on daily milk yields, and on the percentage fat content and its quality.
